Covid-19 Safe Start Updates
We are looking forward to welcoming guests back to Garden Grove B&B and Harbor Country. The quarantine has been difficult for most and hope what we offer can be a good fit for a much needed, safe, and memorable getaway.
The outline below is our Covid-19 updates for the safety and comfort of our guests.
Garden Grove will follow the published guidelines from the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association. https://www.mrla.org/regionalopen.html
We have always maintained high standards with cleaning and will continue including enhanced cleaning procedures as directed by the Center of Disease Control http://www.cdc.gov/. Linen towels will be eliminated in the main floor powder room for the use of paper hand towels.
Reservations and check-ins will be managed until further notice, so that your room will have been vacant for at least 28 hours before your arrival. Check-ins will continue to be between 3 pm and 9 pm Michigan time with guests providing anticipated arrivals to assist with separation. Simultaneous arrivals can be managed with texting or waiting in the car or on our outdoor furniture for a few minutes until the earlier group is finished. Self check-ins to any of our Carriage House rooms will still be an option. Checkouts will be expected by 11:00 and pre-arranged for an optional contact-free checkout with paid invoice emailed if requested.
Social distancing practices will be expected for guests and staff including hand washing and easy access to hand sanitizer, available in each room and at entrances, following guidelines set out by the Center of Disease Control. Masks will be optional, and available, but suggested if distancing becomes temporarily difficult. Our existing structure set up is very conducive to this new norm. The Carriage House rooms are self-contained. There are no common areas in this building except for the staircase to the 2nd floor. The offering of SPA packages will be delayed until June 15th incompliance with Michigan’s Executive Order 2020-110. Common areas and outdoor seating are set up for two people and comfortably able to comply with distancing.
Changes to housekeeping will include a no entry by staff with room tidies by request. Fresh towels can be exchanged in lieu of a room tidied. Breakfast baskets will be collected once guests put their basket outside the room.
A contact-free breakfast, as in the past, will be delivered in a covered basket to Carriage Room guest’s door at a pre-arranged time. Guests in the B&B will have breakfast served at their own table for two and in separate dining rooms. We are extending and reserving the breakfast times to further stagger meals and ensure distancing. Only two tables in separate rooms will be seated at any one time. We plan to eliminate our community self-serve coffee and tea option to have coffee, tea, and condiments at individual tables. Paper will replace linens for napkins
Covid-19 update for other local businesses
Retailers, including our wineries will be allowed to open June 4th, no appointment necessary but capacity limits and social distancing should be expected. Restaurants scheduled to open on June 8th at 50% capacity, Spas, theaters, and hair salons can open June 15th. The Garden Grove website has suggestions for things to do that list some of these choices.
